Challenge Life announces mileage winners

The Challenge Life Youth Foundation concluded the 2007-08 "Mileage Plan Program" on Friday, April 11.

The mileage plan rewards teachers and students for reading, physical activity and community service. The seven-month program was launched in eight Arctic Slope villages last fall and involved more than 300 participants.

Award winners will receive prizes ranging from airline miles to digital cameras and sweatshirts.

Categories include a division for teachers, middle school, high school and elementary students.

Prizes for the "mileage plan" were donated from a number of sources including Challenge Life, the mayor’s Healthy Communities Program, Arctic Slope Regional Corp. and point guard Stephon Marbury of the New York Knicks.
