Alaska State Troopers Report

On Feb. 2, Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue were contacted about an assault in Shungnak. Following an investigation, troopers arrested Brian Cerney, 28, of Shungnak, for assaulting both an adult family member and a juvenile. He faces charges of both third and fourth degree domestic violence assault. He was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail pending arraignment.

On Feb. 3, Kotzebue troopers received a report of a disturbance in Shungnak. Following an investigation, troopers arrested Naomi Custer, 24, of Shungnak, for assaulting a family member and damaging property. She faces charges of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree and fourth degree criminal mischief. She was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail pending arraignment.

On Feb. 5, troopers contacted Charlie Custer, 24, of Shungnak, on two arrest warrants. His original charges included cruelty to animals and two counts of violating conditions of release. After Custer was arrested, he was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where he was remanded on his warrants.
