On Aug. 30, Alaska Wildlife Troopers from the Kotzebue post cited Rodney J. Kielty, 67, of Hudson, Fla., for failing to validate his caribou harvest ticket while hunting in Game Management Unit 23 in the Noatak River area. The bail for his offense is set at $150.

On Sept. 5, a camp owner in the Nome area reported that someone entered and remained unlawfully at their camp, located near 47 Mile Kougarok Road. The owner also reported that over the following two days, someone entered the same camp and stole several items, including a firearm. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Alaska State Troopers in Nome at 443-5525.

On Sept. 9, Alaska Wildlife Troopers from the Kotzebue post cited Jeremy Starks, 43, and Misty Loggins, 36, of Scott Depot, W.Va., for hunting brown bear as non-residents without the required drawing permit or registration permit. They were hunting in Game Management Unit 23 in the Kelly River area with an Alaska resident of "second degree kindred relation," according to troopers. Arraignment for Starks and Loggins is set for Oct. 11 at 9 a.m. in Kotzebue District Court.
